The album is released by Quantum Bleep Records, and was mastered by Colin Bennun at the Stooodio, Bristol. It’s not just the music, but what you do with it, that counts.Ĭlosers Spaghettification and Forget The Future take on a more cybernetic guise, with the former being all sinewy leads and bouncing synths, whilst FTF is an ode to the responsible use of technology, musical and otherwise. As with the other tracks, the space between the gritty, drivings drum & bass and the skyward synths is something to behold, as is the way the track lifts towards the end. The act themselves focus on ‘dancefloor electronica / progressive future funk’, and that description is fitting, especially when applied to Quadra Space, with its funky elements found within a sci-fi setting. The track exhibits the duo’s overarching sense of fun, optimism and achievement, and the entire record seamlessly blends together thoughts, feelings and sensations. Taking in elements of house, techno, electro and trance, the mix-up creates music which is unique to Sinewinder’s ideas and delivery. Sinewinder do not fit easily into any preconceived notions of genre or style, as Dimbes Dombos illustrates. Addictive, joyful and unifying, as all good music should be. A beautiful melody surfs and dives over the breaks, being the daylight to some of the darker moments of the album’s night. Open your mind, and change your perceptions.įlux centres around a repeated vocal sample, and energetic, uplifting build, reminding us of music’s amazing effect on the brain and the mind. The twin elements don’t sound like they should work, but close your eyes to the futuristic possibilities of Sinewinder, and you’ll find yourself in a world in which sonic adventures abound. Arachnoid is pure squelchy bass and electro-influenced groove, with a spooky, suspense-filled backdrop. More elements are added in later, and overall the track is a strong, athletic workout, but still retaining the EP’s sense of depth and technicality. As the name suggest, old skool gamers will feel right at home as the track races along a sonic highway. 
Outrun 5000 has more 80s-influenced synth work, with a enclosing, industrial feel, before the melody takes off, tempered with some interesting metallic counterpoint. Layers upon layers of sound fill your ears, with hints of synthpop in the keys, and progressive house in the timing, before naturalistic, organic sounds finish off. The melody bounces brightly over the kicks, with a sense of fun and well-being. The tracks on the album soon take on a life of their own, with the almost-house like lead-off Infinitus beginning with an accessible, almost homely feel, before twisting and turning into some uncharted waters. The project’s take on music is very much of the science fiction-style cinematic style, but not in the overdone, clichéd way which can be all-too possible. Feel the power of music to transport you out of the ordinary, out of the expected, to somewhere far, far away.Ī mix of progressive, psybreaks and other electronic flavours, the EP/mini-album (eight tracks in all), is the debut long set from the Bristol-based project, formed in 2008 by DJ/producer John Davidson and Hungarian multi-instrumentalist Pete Lendvai. It’s like stepping into another world, another universe. This time, the sensational Superstring from Sinewinder - an eight-track album with a multitude of flavours and feelings on it.
